Giuseppe Mazzocchi “The Tuscan Cook” has been surrounded by good food from birth, born at his grandfather's ancient olive mill not far from the town of Montecatini Terme in Tuscany. His family’s mill and the small farms of the nearby countryside provided the best schooling possible for a budding Chef.
The Tuscan Cook together with VIlla Vita offer in-depth gastronomic programs for small groups based in ideal locations such as Lucca and Montepulciano. Chef Giuseppe will introduce you to the finest locally made products regulated under the E.U. seal of quality (IGP, DOP, DOC, DOCG denomination). These products, mainstays of authentic Tuscan and Italian cuisine, will be reviewed, tasted and featured in hands-on cooking classes as well as food/wine pairings.The culinary activities are complimented with field trips to local producers in Tuscany; all carefully selected by Chef Giuseppe.
 We specialize in small-group, personalized travel with a culinary focus. Giuseppe believes that in order to understand the cuisine of a region, one must experience the local history, culture and customs, so each of these programs offer a balance of culinary delights, historical & cultural activities and outdoor excursions for guests to enjoy. All activities are optional, so there is no pressure to “follow the group” if you prefer to skip on a specific day tour. They also understand that guests want to be able to unwind a little , so each trip itinerary has plenty of “down time” for reading, walking or just relaxing. Customized trips can be arranged for small groups of 6 - 12 guests or select from one of his pre arranged itineraries. Learn from Giuseppe at his own B&B and culinary school where for generations his family has produced the fine olive oils that have graced tables near and far for centuries. In this intimate environment, you will enjoy in depth classroom training with visits to near Montecatini Terme made famous for its healing thermal waters and spas as well as the San Miniato area, a treasure for truffle hunters.
